Edwards Could Get Thirty Years?
One of my pet peeves is newscasts that sensationalize a trial by adding up all the maximums that a defendent could be sentenced to if he got convicted on all counts. Even when it is inconceivable that he would get such a sentence. Can’t they at least say that he could “theoretically” get that sentence so that an uniformed viewer would realizing that he isn’t actually seriously facing that punishment? The John
Edwards case is the most recent example.
