The Winter Olympics Death

Years ago I wrote that most of the super rich entrepreneurs would rather be baseball hall of famers or Oscar award winners or Nobel laureates. But their drive to “be somebody” was not matched by their talents. There are also many people (usually men) who have this same drive but lesser talent still, who become organized crime, or gang big shots.

Those who have this drive along with not quite world class athletic ability often go into obscure sports to try to become a big fish in a little pond. There is nothing wrong with that. Except when the sport is highly dangerous. It seems to me that if you are one of those people who feels a need to make a great mark on the world there are better choices.
