Those Fine Print Disclaimers On TV Commercials

What’s up with them? The print is usually too small to read and if not there is not nearly enough time to read them.

There are those who argue that the government should not force advertisors to add these clarifications to commercials even if the information might change the buyer’s decision. That’s a deep philosophical argument that I don’t want to get into.

But I don’t get how anyone can condone the way the rule is being “followed”. It makes both the rule makers and the advertisors themselves look even shadier than they are.
